( What Does “There Is Light at the End of the Tunnel” Mean? , n.d.) Candidate Name: Caitlyn Hamrick Week of Reflection: Oct 25, 2024     Rating the Week My overall experience this week would probably be a 3 that became a 4.6. It had a great start to the week, and some lessons did not pan out quite like I planned. I felt a great amount of support from my grade level team members this week, and I loved experiencing that. It was an eye opener this week of what I am looking at to come. The thing that built the week would definitely be finding out that I passed my edTPA because though many told me that I would pass easily, I was not so hopeful because the circumstances of finishing and submitting my edTPA was scary and I did not submit as great a quality as I wanted, but my scores came back better than I expected. Seven Questions  What pleasant surprises / accomplishments did I achieve this week? My biggest pleasant surprise this week and accomplishment would be ...

Blog #9- A Full Moon & Finding My Teacher Voice!

Candidate Name: Caitlyn Hamrick Week of Reflection: Oct 18, 2024     Rating the Week My overall experience this week would probably be a 4, but not because of lack of bumps in the road. There have actually been extensive bumps in the road this week, but they were great bumps to experience that I know I will carry with me forever. Seven Questions  What pleasant surprises / accomplishments did I achieve this week? My pleasant surprises and accomplishments this week would be that I was told multiple times this week that I found my teacher voice. There was one point this week when I was really thrown in the lion's den on Thursday. My CE had to cover a class for the afternoon, so I was left to do lunch, math, centers, specials, and dismissal completely on my own. Though I am already leading these things, it was different not having the presence of her there as almost a safety net should something happen that is unusual or unexpected. It was a different feeling, knowing...

Blog #8: Jumping Back In

Rating the Week My overall experience this week would be a 2.7 because I had some highs that were really great. It was also great to catch my breath and catch up on the sleep that I have lost the past few weeks with edTPA weighing on me. I have been working trying to catch up on other things though and worrying about what is to come. I also tackled some tough days with my students this week and being more disciplined with them.  Pleasant Surprises and Accomplishments:  This week, my pleasant surprises and accomplishments would be identifying a deficit and misconception in math for one of my WIN students with her multiplication. I love uncovering a pattern in their learning that I can quickly address and fix with some targeted practices. When I picked up on this and realized how I could help her and open her eyes. This was one of those moments that I said makes all the strife worth it.  What lessons my work experiences taught me that I will build upon next week....

Blog #7 Hit Me LIke a Hurricane

One Surprising Week! Hit Me Like a HURRICANE!! Rating (3 out of 5) Well, this week has been quite a shocker. Overall I started off the week feeling very relieved and feeling like I could breahe again and that it would be smooth sailing since edTPA was hopefully out of the way, after a very complicated submission. I never would have thought a hurricane would get in my way of submitting, but here we are. Well after submitting, I planned and re-planned, and re-planned as the days of school kept getting cancelled. I kept having to adjust and re-plan because my Friday's have a slightly different schedule, so how the plans fall affected how the activities were planned. We were also supposed to have check ins this week, so those were re-scheduled, so I was having to re-plan for the subjects that I would be teaching during the times that the Check ins were scheduled. Sadly, the weird schedule I was going into and the conssitent change in what the week I was going into would look like, doe...
